The Pre-defined Segment and Custom Segment Google Analytics data can be used to define a remarketing audience.
You can use any data from the Pre-defined segments like All Users, Sessions, Conversions, Direct Traffic, Organic traffic, etc. You can use Custom Segments data based on Demographics like Age, Gender, Language, etc. You can use Custom segments based on Technology like Device Type, Browser, OS, etc.
You can also use Behavior based custom segments like Avg. Time on Page, Session duration, etc.
Remarketing audiences cannot be created from Custom Dimensions and Custom Metrics because these data are already included in the Custom Segments data.
